Jadestone – and myself – released a new iPhone/iPod touch game the other day. Vuvuzela Whacker is probably the most heralded game of the summer – a whac-a-mole style game where you score points by “whacking” football fans playing vuvuzelas! How can you NOT love that? :)

Vuvuzela Whacker is an action packed game for iPhone and iPod Touch. The goal is to save the world from the vuvuzela infestation by whacking as many vuvuzela players as possible in one minute. Tap away at the fans holding vuvuzelas – but avoid hitting the regular fans. There are zombies in the stands, too.

Vuvuzela Whacker features score multipliers, beautiful graphics and the ability to release frustration for TV viewers who’ve grown tired of the drone. For soccer fans, the pleasure of silencing a vuvuzela is equal to watching Lionel Messi attacking.

Vuvuzela Whacker users can show off the number of vuvuzelas they’ve silenced to their friends on Facebook. As the instrument’s at risk of being exported to the national championships as seasons begin in August, our goal is to have 1.000.000 vuvuzelas whacked before the end of the World Cup.

Championship Manager Online with Facebook Connect

Today we released a new version of Champ Man Online! It’s a very exciting release, as it’s our first live implementation of Facebook Connect in any of our games.

It’s been an interesting development journey, and we’ve learned a lot about using the Facebook API and working with Facebook applications.

So far, the community really seem to like the possibility to connect their CMO accounts with their Facebook accounts. I’m certain this will make the game even more fun, now that it’s easier to share your CMO experience with your friends on Facebook!

What the change means to the users

Here’s the news item posted on the CM-Online site:

Today we will introduce Facebook Connect to CM-Online!

Enhance your CM-Online experience with Facebook Connect!

You can now link your Facebook account with your CM-Online one.

If you do, you can

* See which of your Facebook friends that are playing CM-Online
* Choose teams and play with your friends much easier
* Receive updates on your friends’ progress, and they on yours
* Invite other friends to play through the easy to use Facebook interface
* Get your name and picture in the game for you and your friends to see
* No need to log into CM-Online if you are already logged into Facebook

You will be able to publish the following events to Facebook

* Let others know when you have a new achievement
* Watch matches from CM-Online
* Make pre match comments
* Show off your latest new player
* Let everyone know when you have been appointed the new manager for a team

Browse all our game worlds and teams

Also, we’ve added the quite cool feature of browsing through all the CM-Online game worlds and their teams! And even more interesting; everyone can share it all by posting their teams, world rankings etc to Facebook.  No one will keep their success a secret from now on… ;)

(Of course, there was a number of other smaller improvements and changes to the game.)

Multiplayer Dice and Backgammon at DiceArena.com

New Backgammon Network Live!

We’ve now opened up the doors to our new Backgammon Network, with a brand new Backgammon game client!

Here’s an extract from the press release:

The game is currently available for play at bwin and PAF, and will be rolled out at NordicBet and Triobet over the next few days. Two additional partners will join the network later in the summer and more will come onboard in the fall. With such strong network distribution, the liquidity should be virtually guaranteed.

Compared to the existing GamArena backgammon, the new version is a complete rewrite, created from scratch with input and support from avid backgammon players. Widely requested features that have been added include:

  • Doubling cube
  • Match series
  • Tournaments

New Champ Man Online out!

Today, we released the new version (2.0) of Championship Manager Online!

These are the release notes from the CM-Online team:

  • Achievements – A new way to compete in CM-Online.
  • New graphical style – for faster playing and easier to use.
  • Tournaments – They are now free to play.
  • Premium and regular managers – Now it is available to play the game for free, with certain restrictions.
  • Cup – We have changed the international cups to the correct format.
  • Economy – An overhaul have been made to the economy in order to balance the game.
  • Stadium – Balanced the effects when improving your stadium to make it more worthwhile.
  • Fans interest – Improved the logic to better reflect the fans interest for successful teams.

As a veteran CM-Online Manager, I’m of course pleased to see the new design and maybe most of all; the new achievement system! Now I’ll get a whole bunch of new challenges to take on… :-)

Another highlight is that it’s now possible to play as a Regular or Premium member. Premium members get more and better features, but playing as a Regular is free of charge.

I’m of course biased, but a nice release nevertheless! :-)
